Mingle with the most powerful and influential leaders in Politics and the Entertainment Business. Rock the Vote mobilizes young people to create positive social and political change in their lives and communities. The goal of Rock the Vote media campaign and street team activities is to increase youth voter turnout. Rock the Vote coordinates voter registration drives, get-out-the-vote events, and voter education efforts, all with the intention of ensuring that young people take advantage of their right to vote.

Downtown Santa Monica Walking Tours
In two hours and six blocks, this new tour explores more than 130 years of Santa Monica history from its Wild West frontier beginnings to the metropolis of today. Starting from the 1875 Rapp Saloon, the route includes many landmarks and concludes at the 2003 NRDC building. BOOKLETS FOR SELF-GUIDED TOURS providing a map and detailed information are available for $3 at the Visitors Center, 1920 MainStreet, or the Hostelling International Travel Store at 1434 2ndStreet.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Story - Centennial Traveling Exhibit
The oldest African American sorority opens it's centennial traveling exhibit (only west coast appearance.) It's a 3-dimensional, interactive experience for all ages. It includes computer modules, artifacts and replica displays. The exhibit shows the story of AKA's scholastic, health, cultural, historical, political, and global contributions that have catalyzed, influenced and transformed innumerable institutions, organizations, communities and families throughout the 20th century. The opening reception includes a performance byMarcus Miller and Freedon Jazz Movement

Target Sundays @ California African American Museum
The dance and musical performances celebrate Black History Month. Galleries open at 11am and performances begin at 1pm with co-hosts Babe Evans and Jeffrey Anderson Gunter. Also at 11am, a children's workshop will focus on mask making. In the galleries: "A Woman's Journey: The Life and Work of Artis Lane," "MLK in California," a special exhibit of photos taken during Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s visits to California, "The African Presence in Mexico," "CommonGround," and "The African Journey West," the museum's permanent installation. Among the performers at this Target Sundays @ CAAM are the Pacific Coast Praise Dance Institute, tap dancers Rolanda Hendricks and DeJuan Collins, vocalists Denitria Champ and Charlie Vaughn, gospel artist Daryl Coley and Sabrina "Bre" Johnson.
