Check out the Los Angeles debut of Nigerian world music icon Fela Kuti’s youngest son. This vocalist/saxophonist has led his father’s legendary band Egypt 80 since his father’s death when he was only 15! Enjoy the Afrobeat sounds and rhythms full of socially conscious lyrics over a mélange of Nigerian soul, funk and jazz heard through the horns, keyboards, percussion, guitars and vocals unique onto itself!

World Refugee Day 2008
This unique politically conscious event presented by The Niapele Project will feature a performance by The Infinite Project and Alex & Sam, film screenings including a documentary on refugee rights in Ghana. Check out the world premiere of The Niapele Project PSA while enjoying the open bar and buffet, a chance to win a vacation in the South of France. Be enticed by goods made by refugees in Ghana, art made by refugee children, all available for purchase. There’s even a photo exhibit of work by Brown Lion and Pierre Letulzo, and limited collection for sale. What a different experience!
